A breakout book upon its debut in 1963 documenting the lives of young working class women, Up the Junction is Nell Dunn’s short story collection set in the industrial slums of Battersea and Clapham Junction. Her work is considered kitchen sink realism, a label applied to writers and playwrights work of the late 50s and early 60s that documented British working class lives.

First edition. London: Macgibbon & Kee, 1963. 110 pages. Black and white illustrations throughout text by Susan Benson. 20 x 14 x 2cm. Very good book in very good dust jacket.
