Memories of the Body
Memories of the Body
Wallington: Severn House, 1992.
Signed first UK edition hardback. 258pp, final two pages blank, 8vo.
Published simultaneously in the UK and the US by Severn House, this is a collection of science fiction and horror stories by Lisa Tuttle, including some of her most beloved short stories. In Riding the Nightmare, a woman’s relationship struggles manifest in dreams of a spectral white horse, while Skin Deep follows a woman who sheds her skin like a reptile. And in perhaps the highlight of the collection, ‘Bits and Pieces’, a woman begins to discover the body parts of ex lovers in her bed. Throughout all these stories the same themes and concerns occur; sex, death and gender relations.
Dustjacket very slightly bent on front cover. Black cloth board, gold gilt lettering on spine. Signed on title page. A near fine copy of a lovely book.
