This collection includes work by well-known writers such as Anna Kavan, rarely anthologised, as well as Muriel Spark and Stevie Smith. The Kavan story collected here was also published in the book A Bright Green Field and Other Stories, which Peter Owen also published in 1958. The purpose of this book was to showcase the range of contemporary literature that Peter Owen were releasing.
