First English language edition hardback. 125pp, last five pages blank. 8vo. This novel by Trefusis dramatises her youthful affair with Vita Sackville-West in an unconventional, comedic manner. Originally published in French in 1935, it was finally translated in the 1980s following the revelation of the affair. This edition features an introduction by Victoria Glendinning, Trefusis’ biographer. Tucked inside the cover of this copy is a postcard from Sissinghurst Castle, with a picture of Vita Sackville-West’s writing room and a list of books related ton Trefusis and Sackville-West written on the back.
